Indications

3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads are indicated for use on: patients at risk of developing pressure damage as a part of a pressure ulcer prevention program; intact skin, category 1 pressure damage and sites of recently healed pressure damage. Intended for use by a medical professional or under the guidance of a medical professional.

Contraindications

Do not use if there is a known sensitivity to silicone. If a skin reaction occurs, remove product and seek medical advice. 
Not to be used on broken skin.

Warnings and Precautions

Prior to application check for any visible damage, tears, holes, areas of compression where the device has not regained its original shape etc. 
Prior to first application, 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads should be cleaned and dried thoroughly according to the cleaning instructions within this instruction for use or in line with local protocol.
3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads are not compatible with oil based products, such as petrolatum.
3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads may not be compatible with other topical medications. 
3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads must be applied directly to skin. Do not apply over clothing or wound dressings.
3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads should be cleaned daily and thoroughly dried before patient re-application. Only reapply if the device presents in its original condition following the cleaning protocol. If damage occurs to the product, replace with a new  3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pad.
Wash and dry the skin underneath 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads daily to ensure that any moisture build up or contaminates are removed.
Skin underneath 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads should be inspected regularly, according to the local pressure ulcer prevention protocols.
If 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads are used on the face, care should be taken not to obstruct the nose or mouth with the product.
If the condition of the skin deteriorates underneath 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads, remove the product and seek medical advice. 
3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads have a shelf life of 5 years and can be re-used as often as required within the specified expiry date provided that no visible damage to the product is observed. 
3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads can be used for up to 16 weeks cummulatively. 
Do not secure with compression bandages or garments. 
Do not consume.

Recommended Use

Pressure Relief

Mode of Use/Application

Remove 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pad from outer packaging. Thoroughly clean and dry both the device and the area of application on the patient’s skin according to the cleaning instructions within this instruction for use or in line with local protocol. Apply 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pad flat side down directly to skin. 3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pad can be applied, for example, in the following ways: Wrapped around wrists, applied to shoulder blades, positioned between knees. Secure in place using underwear, socks, a light retention bandage or tape. Kerrapro Sheet can be cut to the appropriate size and shape to aid in the prevention of pressure damage caused by devices.

Removal & Change Frequency

When reapplying the device, follow the cleaning technique followed by application.

3M™ Kerrapro™ Pressure Reducing Pads should be cleaned daily using soap and water - moisten the product with soap, massage to remove debris, rinse in clean water and dry thoroughly. When the device is not in use, clean and dry and place back into the outer packaging.
