Cutimed® HydroControl dressing is a combination of a highly breathable polyurethane film and a hydroactive hydropolymer gel matrix for optimum moisture balance.
• Innovative combination of a highly breathable PU film and a hydroactive hydropolymer gel matrix
• High wound stimulation potential
• Excellent exudate management
• Optimum moisture balance
Cutimed® HydroControl is indicated for dry to moderately exuding chronic and secondary healing wounds, such as leg ulcers (venous, arterial and mixed etiology), pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. Cutimed® HydroControl is suitable for use under compression therapy.
Cutimed® HydroControl is not indicated for surgical implantation, for treatment of heavily exuding wounds, to control heavy bleeding, for third-degree burns or for the placement inside deep cavities or sinuses.
Cutimed® HydroControl is for single use only. Do not use if the package is already open or damaged as the sterility of the dressing is guaranteed only when the package is unopened and undamaged prior to use.
Cutimed® HydroControl may be used on an infected wound in addition to antimicrobial therapy under medical supervision.
Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to glycerine or hydrogels. In case of intolerance, remove the dressing and gently cleanse the wound with water or sterile saline solution.
The dressing may be moistened with sterile saline solution for easier removal.
Should gel fragments remain in the wound bed after removing the dressing, these can be removed by irrigation with sterile saline solution or water.
During the body's normal healing process, autolytic debridement (i.e., removal of non-viable tissue from the wound) could initially make the wound appear larger. If the wound continues to grow larger after the first few dressing changes, consult a health care professional.
Because Cutimed® HydroControl creates an environment that favors the growth of new blood vessels, the delicate, newly formed blood vessels may occasionally produce blood stained wound fluid. If excessive bleeding occurs, the dressing may be used together with an alginate wound dressing.
Monitor the wound carefully. The dressing may remain in situ for up to seven days, depending on the wound condition. The total duration of contact (i.e., where the treatment involves consecutive application of individual dressings) is 30 days.
Appropriate supportive measures such as compression in the case of venous leg ulcers or pressure-reducing measures in the case of diabetic foot syndrome and pressure ulcers, systemic antibiotics etc. should be used where necessary.
Do not use the product after the expiry date.
The dressing tends to swell upon contact with water (e.g., when bathing or showering). Therefore, it is recommended to reduce showering times to a minimum when being worn for longer periods.
Data is not available that supports the use of topical medicinal preparations in conjunction with Cutimed® HydroControl.
Do not use when receiving radiation therapy.
