Restore® Calcium Alginate Dressing with Silver's sustained antimicrobial action of ionic silver is activated by contact with exudate. Highly absorbent and creates a conformable gel, aiding easy removal.
• Calcium sodium alginate creates conformable protective gel on contact with exudate
• Absorbs more exudate, reducing dressing changes and nursing time
• Calcium and ionic silver for antimicrobial action and reduced odor
• Remains intact when moist, aiding easy removal
• Creates moist wound environment that promotes healing
• Highly absorptive dressing for heavily exuding wounds
• Silver release helps reduce infection
Restore® Calcium Alginate Dressing with Silver is indicated for moderate to heavily exuding, partial- to full-thickness wounds including post-operative wounds, trauma wounds (dermal lesions, trauma injuries, or incisions), leg ulcers, pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, graft and donor sites, first- and second-degree burns, and post-operative surgical wounds. This product can also be used under compression bandages. As the product contains alginate, it may assist in supporting the control of minor bleeding in superficial wounds. Restore® Calcium Alginate Dressing with Silver is suitable for use, under medical supervision, on wounds that are critically colonized.
Restore® Calcium Alginate Dressing with Silver is not indicated for use on third-degree burns, individuals with a known sensitivity to alginates or silver, surgical implantation, to control heavy bleeding, or for direct application on dry or lightly exuding wounds.
Systemic antimicrobial therapy should be considered when wound infection is evident. Under medical supervision, this dressing may be used in conjunction with systemic antibiotics.
The dressing may adhere if used on dry or very lightly exuding wounds. If the dressing is not easily removed, moisten it with sterile saline solution prior to removal.
The dressing performance may be impaired by excess use of petroleum-based ointments.

To prepare the site, debride when necessary and irrigate the wound site in accordance with standard protocols. Remove excess solution from surrounding skin. Select a size of dressing that is slightly larger than the wound. Cut (using clean scissors) or fold the dressing to fit the wound. Loosely fill deep wounds, ensuring the dressing does not overlap the wound margins. Apply to wound bed directly. Cover and secure the dressing with a non-occlusive secondary dressing.
Dressing change frequency will depend on wound condition and the level of exudate. Initially it may be necessary to change the dressing every 24 hours.
Reapply Restore® Calcium Alginate Dressing with Silver when the secondary dressing has reached its absorbent capacity or whenever good wound care practice dictates that the dressing should be changed.
Gently remove the secondary dressing. If the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing with sterile saline solution prior to removal. Gently remove the dressing from the wound bed and discard. Irrigate the wound site in accordance with standard protocols prior to application of a new dressing.
Cover and secure with a non-occlusive secondary dressing.
