Prior to the initial application of the dressing, the wound should be debrided of any necrotic tissue. The wound should be cleansed with normal saline and/or an appropriate wound cleansing solution.
Trim the inner diameter of the Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® Ostomy Dressing to fit around the stoma site as needed. Cut the outer diameter of the dressing slightly smaller than the ostomy pouch adhesive area as needed. Place the foam side directly to the wound with the film side on top. The ostomy barrier should be placed over the Hydrofer Blue CLASSIC® Ostomy Dressing and the barrier edges should adhere directly to the patient's skin.
The dressing can be left in place for up to 3 days, depending on the clinical condition of the wound.
Duration of use is determined by health care provider and depends on wound type and conditions.
