Mode of Use/Application

Prior to the initial application of the dressing, the wound should be debrided of any necrotic tissue. The wound should be cleansed with normal saline and/or an appropriate wound cleansing solution.
Remove the tunneling dressing from the package and moisten to tip with sterile saline or sterile water to aid with ease of insertion. It is important to keep the packing rigid for placement. Gently insert the moistened end of the tunneling dressing (softened) into the wound canal. If necessary, a cotton swab may be used to help guide it into place.
Leave approximately 1 cm of the tunneling dressing exposed to aid with removal. The dressing can be cut with sterile scissors. After insertion, add additional sterile saline or sterile water to the end of the dressing so that the entire Tunneling dressing becomes moist. Secure with a secondary dressing to prevent displacement and maintain moisture balance.

Removal & Change Frequency

The dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days, depending on the clinical condition of the wound.
Duration of use is determined by health care provider and depends on wound type and conditions.
