Intertrigo: Real Problem, Real Relief

Intertrigo, also known as intertriginous dermatitis, is a form of moisture-associated skin damage resulting from prolonged exposure to perspiration within skin-to-skin contact areas and beneath devices. Intertrigo (ITD) is a common condition with limited information available, yet may pose treatment challenges for healthcare providers. In 2017, it was estimated that over 2.3 million sufferers were seen in acute care. In this webinar, speaker Margaret Hiler MSN, RN, CWOCN will meet the following learning objectives:

• Define intertrigo and the impact on patients
• Explain what causes Intertrigo and who is most at risk
• Identify signs and symptoms and common areas it can be found
• Summarize effective management and prevention using InterDry®

Margaret is the president of the Washington DC affiliate of the WOCN Society and has varied experience on Cardiac, Vascular, Surgical and Progressive Care nursing units in roles including leadership and education. She completed the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse Education Program at Emory University and has been certified since 2012. Margaret has authored several posters presented at Regional and National WOCN Society conferences including the award-winning poster in 2016 for decreasing device-related pressure injuries.
