Woven to Heal: Harnessing the Power of Compression Textiles

As the gold standard of care for the treatment of VLUs, compression therapy is often discussed and published on, but what differentiates one compression system from another? It comes down to textiles. In this session, presenters will lay out the disease condition, clinical experience in real life, and how a unique Dual Compression System (DCS) that combines short- and long-stretch bandages can effectively reduce edema and support healing. They will also discuss biomechanical properties of the DCS and microscopy-based analysis of the interlocking system between the short- and long-stretch layers. It is believed this interlocking system in DCS allows for the maintenance of correct pressure over time while edema reduction occurs and under all ambulatory conditions of the patient.
