Omeza Expands Workforce Across Departments

New Employees Join Operations, R&D, Sales, and Finance

Sarasota, FL – (June 29, 2022) – As sales and production of advanced wound care treatments ramp up, Omeza hired 5 more team members. Initial sales of Omeza® Collagen Matrix Rx, Omeza® Lidocaine Lavage and Omeza® Skin Protectant to Veterans Administration facilities were logged in June with 1 reorder last week.

Nick Lapiana was appointed Key Account Manager, responsible for sales of Omeza products in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Nick has over 13 years’ experience in wound care sales in the Pittsburgh territory working with Milliken Healthcare and Misonix. A sales leader with Milliken, Nick has experience selling into the wound, burn care, and lymphedema markets in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has a BS in Communication from the University of Pittsburgh.

Richard Davis has been appointed Director – Quality Management for Omeza. He is responsible for the Omeza Quality Management system, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards, serving as the company’s Quality Management Representative.Richard has over 30 years of experience in Quality and Operations executive roles in FDA regulated product companies including Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, and NutraSweet. Richard has expertise in areas such as FDA/ISO compliance, sterile packaging, supplier evaluation, process controls and capability analysis, quality management applications, post market surveillance, and design controls.

Richard has an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida, a BS in Physics, and is a certified Regulatory Affairs Professional (RAC) from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS). Additionally, Richard is a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and has Six-Sigma and Lean Black Belt certifications.

Helen Frassmann is the Production Manager for Omeza. She is responsible for overseeing production, ensuring compliance with quality regulations, and adhering to the cGMP standards of production. Helen has a 20-year history of quality and production experience. She leverages her technical knowledge to develop lean production procedures and training modules. She has worked to create systematic and comprehensive environments that are easily replicated with industry growth. Helen was instrumental in developing key milestone procedures and documentation for companies, including Procter & Gamble, Rockwool, and ADT Security Services. She has a BA in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Lawanna Peterson is a Quality Technician working in Research and Development with Dr. Suzanne Bakewell. She is responsible for updating and integrating Omeza’s Quality Management System. She earned her Associate of Science in Medical Assisting from Keiser University.

Maria Jaeger is Omeza’s Accounting Manager. She is responsible for everyday accounting operations, maintenance of department budgets, and assisting CFO Chris Dybowski with month/year-end closing, preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and audits. In addition to accounting, Maria is also payroll administrator and manages many of the human resources processes in coordination with Omeza’s management and legal department. She received her BA in Accounting from the University of South Florida.
