Algidex Ag® Gel wound dressing features a combination of ionic silver, alginate, and maltodextrin that provides immediate and sustained antimicrobial activity.
• Creates a moist wound environment important to healing
• Does not require the use of sterile water to activate antimicrobial action
• Ideal for deep or large surface area wounds
Algidex® Ag Gel is indicated for the management of wet, moist or dry wounds including: venous ulcers, pressure ulcers (stages 1-4), dermal lesions (or secreting skin injuries), second-degree burns or donor sites.
Algidex® Ag Gel should not be used for the treatment of the following: third-degree burns, ulcers resulting from infections, lesions associated with active vasculitis or patients with known sensitivity to alginates.
When visible signs of infection are present in the wound, Algidex® Ag Gel may only be used when proper systemic medical treatment addresses the cause of the infection.
